This urban townhouse architecture project is built on a long, narrow plot in the commercial heart of Barcelona’s Poblenou district. Designed for a young family, the mixed-use development integrates a private home with a mandatory ground-floor commercial space.
The floor plan layout reconfigures the vertical distribution to avoid a monotonous circulation core. The daytime program occupies the first floor, while the private night zones sit on the second level. Splitting each floor into two staggered split-levels minimizes the heavy sensation of single-flight stairs. This dynamic layout creates distinct atmospheres and shifting interior views. Finally, a private rooftop pool finishes the building, designed with a sleek, flush water surface.
An open white staircase with a large central void serves as the structural backbone for all rooms. Adjacent to it, a compact green volume groups the bathrooms, utility closets and storage solutions together. To partition the remaining spaces, custom wood and glass cabinetry delivers absolute flexibility. This smart zoning gives the contemporary home a warm, minimalist look.
