An entirely obsolete mini apartment is being renovated for rent to young people looking to move out on their own. Due to the typology of the dwelling, which has very little surface area, a loft-style renovation was chosen to maximize usable space.

The space is divided by means of a kitchen-wardrobe unit that physically and visually separates the bedroom from the living-dining room and kitchen. The bathroom is hidden behind a curtain within the bedroom, and the toilet, the most private space in the home, is designed as the only enclosed area without conventional walls neither a typical door.

The hydraulic mosaic tiles hidden beneath the flooring from a previous renovation were recovered. All the solid brick walls were stripped and painted white to achieve texture and neutrality. Exposed electrical installations were chosen to preserve the brick’s finish, avoiding the need of destructive chases.
