This commercial interior design project involves the office refurbishment of a former cosmetics headquarters in Barcelona’s Eixample district. The new workspace serves as the regional subsidiary for an international lighting sales and management firm. Located on the first floor of a heritage-protected building, the original layout was completely unsuitable for the new client’s operational needs.
The architectural proposal removes all overlapping layers from previous renovations. This intervention creates larger, open-plan workspaces with increased ceiling heights. Sleek glass partitions distribute natural light into deeper interior zones. In contrast, building facilities and service areas sit within the darker central core. The street-facing facade accommodates corporate management, while the rear area overlooks a quiet courtyard for company employees.
Minimalist wall, ceiling, and floor coverings provide a neutral backdrop to highlight the brand’s architectural lighting products. Furthermore, bespoke oak furniture brings the necessary warmth to create an inviting workplace atmosphere. This coherent material palette aligns seamlessly with the corporate identity used in the brand’s other international subsidiaries.
