The purpose of the project is to renovate a former cosmetics office to create the subsidiary company office of an international lamp sales and management company. The office is located on the ground floor of a grade B architecturally protected building in Barcelona’s Eixample district, with a layout unsuitable for the new client.
The proposal is to remove all the overlapping layers from the previous renovation to create an office with larger, higher, open spaces, with glass partitions in areas lacking natural light. In contrast, the facilities and service areas will remain in the darker central area. The area facing the street will be for company management, and the rear area facing the courtyard will be for company employees.
Minimalism in the wall, ceiling, and floor coverings allows for and provides a neutral base for the company’s product design, while the use of oak wood in furniture provides the necessary warmth to create a warm working atmosphere, materials already used in the other subsidiary of the same brand.
